Solvent
Replacement and Rebalancing
|
| |
If
you have a solvent blend which you would like to change to:
...Reduce or eliminate an expensive or toxic component
...Raise or lower the flash point or drying time
...Increase the KB value or solvency ability
...Reduce the level of an odorous component
...Include a solvent of your choice
and utilize most of the same components that are in the product
now.
Solvent Engineering's
proprietary Hansen Solubility Parameter data base and programing
may allow you to do just that. Our software allows us to match
a given solvent's solubility characteristics with a blend of other
solvents of the same or differing flash points, odor, etc. The
500 solvents in the data base include most of the widely used,
commercially available materials, but we can add your choice,
however exotic.

|
|
| |
What
you provide:
| |
The
current solvent or blend composition |
| |
What
you want to change |
| |
What
characteristics you want to keep about the same (flash point, etc.),
and the acceptable limits |
| |
What
ingredients you want to use as replacements, if you have some
in mind |
| |
Your
current costs and the cost constraints or target you have
on the replacement blend |
|
| |
What
you get:
| |
Within
the limits of the available solvents and the goals and constraints
given: |
| |
|
Up
to five (5) replacement blend composition print outs with
cost and specific gravity estimates for each blend. |
| |
|
Up
to five (5) blends of two or three solvents from a group of
solvents of your choice, to replace the undesirable component(s)
on a "drop in", i.e. 1:1 basis. Feasibility constraints
are highest for this goal. |
